RoboVent Responds: New Silica Exposure Limits

Sterling Heights, Mich. (Apr. 15, 2016) — On March 25, 2016, OSHA released its final rule on crystalline silica exposure, which cuts permissible exposure limits (PELs) in half from the previous limits to 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air (µ/cu.m.). In light of the scientific evidence linking silica exposure to serious health impacts such as silicosis, lung cancer, chronic bronchitis and kidney failure, we believe that the new OSHA rule is an important and necessary step to protect workers in silica-producing industries.
