Cloud-based Application Reduces Operational Costs, Increases Efficiency & Eases Minds of Plant Managers Everywhere

Sterling Heights, Mich. (Nov. 9, 2015)—RoboVent announced today the release of eTell, an advanced predictive control system for air quality equipment that improves energy efficiency, prolongs filter life and reduces operational costs. The cloud-based air quality control program, the first of its kind in the industrial filtration industry, uses advanced analytics to “learn” the plant’s processes and trends and make automated adjustments to improve system performance thus increasing efficiencies and lowering costs. Facility managers can easily monitor energy use, maintenance requirements and system usage on the eTell mobile app and dashboard.

“eTell moves beyond preventative maintenance and in to predictive maintenance,” explains RoboVent General Manager, Jim Reid. “With eTell, plant managers don’t have to wonder when maintenance is needed. The equipment can reach out and tell them when it needs something, whether it’s a new filter or a maintenance check. It brings real peace of mind for busy managers.”

eTell connects to RoboVent equipment via Bluetooth. It uses “smart” software that continually learns from system or human input and makes predictions and adjustments based on that input, much like the Google Nest Learning Thermostat. It is part of a growing movement towards the “internet of things,” in which appliances and equipment are connected to each other and to human operators through cloud-based applications. It is the first application of cloud-based predictive software to industrial air quality and dust collection systems.

eTell can be installed on new equipment or retrofit onto existing products including RoboVent’s systems, collectors and other industrial air quality equipment. Once installed, eTell:

  • continually monitors energy use, filter life and other aspects of system performance;
  • learns facility applications and processes;
  • automatically makes simple adjustments to save energy and reduce costs;
  • uses predictive analytics to make maintenance recommendations;
  • sends notices and alerts to facility managers; and
  • allows managers to track system performance on a simple mobile (or desktop) dashboard at any time – from anywhere on the planet.

eTell is the latest in a series of new systems that provide greater visibility, control and efficiency to plant managers. It builds on the success of other electronic control systems from RoboVent such as eDrive, an automated Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) program that adjusts power based on filter load, and eMaster, a facility-wide electronic monitoring system.

“We’re committed to continuing to innovate to make clean air easy for our customers,” says Reid. “With the move to mobile, eTell is what our customers need right now. We’re always looking for opportunities to help our clients improve safety, costs and operational efficiencies.”
